Jim performs live music in and around Rochester, NY, and the Finger Lakes Region, in restaurants/bars, private parties/events, festivals, fundraisers, group homes, senior living centers and house parties. Where ever he performs, people of all ages enjoy the genuine, personal touch Jim adds to his acoustic arrangements of songs we all know and love, as well as, his own compositions.

About the songs in Jim’s words:

“IN THE WIND” and the songs’ meaning was inspired by certain happenings in my life that seem more than coincidental. I hope that your own interpretation will be thought provoking, reassuring and lift your spirit.”

“BOWL OF CLAY” came to me rather quickly. One day, my cousin Paul, who makes pottery as a hobby, put a post on Face Book that he was stuck on making bowls. “BESSY” was a 1970 Chevy Nova that I bought for $100.

I drove this car for several years and it holds many memories.”

“HARMONY” was composed and first debuted at the Rochester Harmony Festival on October13, 2006. It has always bothered me to see or hear that somebody is being mistreated or hurt, especially, by someone they know, love and trust. As a musician, I felt the need to write a song about domestic violence and violence against women and children in general. I hope “Harmony” will inspire and encourage others to get involved and help us create a more safe and peaceful community to live, learn, work and play.”

“MY FATHERS HEART” is a special dedication to my Dad, Forest Calvin Lane. 1924-2020
